Metallized Ceramics - Metal-Ceramic Assemblies. We apply refractory metals (Mo, W), noble metals (Ag, Au), and occasionally others as coatings on ceramics, both oxide and non-oxide. Standard Mo or W metallizing on alumina is the most popular (on 90% - 99.8%). In addition, we do Mo-metallizing of beryllia. Co-fired metal ceramics assemblies make use of both noble and refractory metals. Metallized ceramics is typically electroplated with Ni, Cu, Ag, Au (other types of electroplating are also available). We braze metallized ceramics to metal members (SS, refractory alloys, Ta, Ti, and others). We can also perform metallizing and joining of exotic assemblies: zirconia-Ti, silicon nitride-SS, silicon carbide-Ta, and the like for special applications.
